Although my earlier transmission is from my memory, which I trust completely, I believe that it reflects the picture of Muni transfers from 1959 to 1963, my high school years. With a friend, we collected transfers. Being Richmond district kids, our most common transfers were 9Cs (22 Fillmore inbound-north) and the most rare was the 4E (17 Parkmerced Express to Parkmerced. The 17 Express once it left downtown stopped only at Ocean Avenue before entering Parkmerced. So the transfers could only be used on the 12 line or the 17 line. My friend's and my hobby were documented in a Chronicle article by a general assignment reporter named Art Hoppe in the August 29, 1959, edition.
