Folks: All things are relative.

Just to keep things in perspective, Leif reported his family bought a house on Kirkham in 1941 for $4,500. My dad bought a Doelger special "Junior 5" in Westlake in 1952 for $10,950.

Yikes, that's more than a 100% increase in house prices in only a decade!

Those ex-GIs must have been furious that they couldn't enjoy the same low-cost housing as previous generations.
