Cathy, I don’t know how long it would have taken you to walk from 28th Avenue to Presentation High School, but I can tell you how long it takes to walk from Market Street downtown to 43rd Avenue. Our high school, circa 1962, required all of us to go see the then-new movie “Lawrence of Arabia” -- for its educational value, I suppose. I saw the movie on a Saturday on Market Street. Upon leaving the theater, even though the car ticket was good on Saturdays and I could have taken the L car home for 5 cents, I decided to walk home, just for the heck of it and just to do something different. It took three hours! But I eventually ended up on 43rd Avenue.
