I remeber another quake in the early eighties. I was stationed at Moffett Field at the time in Sunnyvale. I was reading the buliten board in hanger one, the original dirigable hanger, when I noticed the lights start to sway. They were suspended from the top of the hangar to a lower level as there were now aicraft there not blimps. I thought at first it was the wind as the gigantic south doors were open. Then I felt it. Many people ran outside which was more dangerous as the building was made out of corugated steel plates which had the potential of falling off. Luckily none did.

The worst damadge for that area was Morgan hill where many houses slid off their foundation becaus they had not been properly bolted.
