"Tanksgiving"? That was not a nasty laugh you just heard, that was one with a smile and a tear. It complimented my memory of a day just before Thanksgiving, 1971. Whether or not you intended to spell it that way, David, you brought back someone very long dead, as well as taking me back to a time of long ago.

On every Thanksgiving Day, I raise my glass of wine, say "Happy Thank Iz Giving, Cheryle, wherever you are!" take a sip, and smile..with a tear in my eye. The story behind this would be very long, and it is one of those You Had To Be There events I could explain and explain, and no one would understand what is so funny or significant. Cheryle was part of my Outsidelands experiences, and thus memories.

Many have been describing long ago Thanksgivings with long gone people. As long as we remember them, they can still be part of our celebrations. So, on Thursday, let us raise our glasses (or coffee mugs if you don't consume wine) and toast those who are no longer with us: Happy Thanksgiving/Tanksgiving?Thankizgiving wherever you are--we are glad you are here, even if it's only for a second!
