I "logged in" my fair share of hours hanging out at Music City and Roger Calkin's (later to also include Guitar Center on Van Ness, and Bananas At Large on Monterey). Kustom amplifiers were pretty much exclusively sold at Calkin's back then. They were available wide variety of bizarre colors in "tuck and roll" leather-like vinyl(?). I had a black Kustom 100 for years that I acquired from my brother, who bought it at RC.
Remember "Weir" amplifiers at Music City. I think they were designed originally for Blue Cheer (I was there when they came in to check them out). The speaker cabinet was about 10ft tall with about a dozen or more speakers of various sizes (15", 12", 10", etc). The power head was about 1000 watts. Talk about a bizarre design...
