I was good friends with Samuel Jack Adams and survivor Carl Campbell. I knew Donna Spanos and was acquainted with some of the other victims. My friend Don and I were camping in Tahoe National Forest when we learned of the tragedy when Don called his mom at a nearby pay phone. I had asked Jack if he wanted to go camping with us but he declined because of previous plans. A very sad memory which I can never forget.
