My fondest memory of a San Francisco Christmas were the decorated firehouses. In the 40's and 50's somewhere around Dec. 22nd or 23rd, we would all pile in the car and drive by every single one. I can still see them in my mind's eye.
I also remember the "cellophane" tinsel. It was very popular to use. There always was a beautiful "cellophane" tinsel tree that we would drive by on Woodside Ave.
