Oh, JB, thank you for raising this. One of my greatest evenings came as the result of my group winning the San Francisco FAIR and Exhibition Operatic Lip Synching contest. Our group won first prize for our interpretation of the finale of Die Fledermaus. We were given a chauffeur driven limousine for the evening, dinner at Les Joulin, and box seats at Louise M. Davies hall for the Sing It Yourself Messiah. For the occasion I wore white tie and tails. Since my vocal abilities are such that even 3000 voices could not compensate, I brought along a baton. When exiting the limo with baton in hand, I was thought to be the conductor. What an evening! PS: the beloved Will Connolly was in the party.
