Most touching and informative. My grandfather was a Shriner and while I never understood exactly what he or they did, I knew it was a lot of good. I was banned early on from playing with his fez which held a very special spot on his closet shelf. His only jewelry were his wedding and 32 degree Mason rings which he never took off.

Service clubs are a hard sell today even though women are most welcomed into Rotary. Are the Masons still very active in SF? Seems younger folks dont want the commitment and choose to do good deeds on the spur of the moment via flash mobs. Keep that in mind, Holt, if you need to form a protest for more condo development.
