Could be Dave that folks are napping this afternoon after attending the predawn commemorative ceremonies at Lotta’s Fountain and the ceremonial gold spray-painting of a fire hydrant at 20th and Church streets that supplied water to suppress flames.
Be sure to view the WNP’s OpenSFhistory site with a gallery of rarely seen photos showing the destruction of the earthquake & fire. These photographs are made available through their donation by an anonymous private collector. Volunteers are needed in the effort to catalog and curate this massive collection.
