Re: April Streetwise: Rites of Spring

Even with all the changes in life styles and family activities, some things never change...like spring gardening and the opening of baseball season...both of which I look forward to every year. Spring is my favorite time of year. I can't wait to start playing in my back and front yards, checking on my favorites, moving the frost tenders out of the house and groaning at the weeds sprouting. Can't do as much anymore or keep at it as long, but happily have some family who give me the help I need.

And then there's baseball. While I love the Niners - no choice since my husband was a complete football fanatic - but I've always liked baseball the most. I can still picture my Dad in his big chair next to his Philco radio that looked like a juke box in wood, listening to the baseball games. He even took me to a Seals game - saw Dominic DiMaggio!

Go, Giants!!!
