Annabelle Marsh Piercy, 1921-2016

It was sad to read about the passing of Annabelle Marsh Piercy, an early and long-time contributor to WNP, who had deep roots in the Western Neighborhoods:

I met her nearly 10 years ago at a WNP event, and she was a marvelous story teller. She was the granddaughter of George Turner Marsh, a local merchant who settled at 12th Avenue and Clement Street, naming his home Richmond House, to honor his 1857 birthplace just outside Melbourne Australia. In 1890, the SF Board of Supervisors adopted that name as a replacement for "Outside Lands":
