Memories of Charlie Sava?

In 1983, Charlie Sava was San Francisco's oldest employee (83 years old) when he died of a heart attack while driving to work at the 19th Avenue pool that had recently been renamed for him.

He coached swimming at the Crystal Plunge pool on Lombard Street for 20-plus years, was a member of the Dolphin Club, coached the 1936 US Olympic Swim Team, revolutionized swimmer training methods, and taught thousands of kids how to swim.

Any memories of Charlie Sava on the west side?
