I am late joining in on this thread but it one I cannot ignore.
I taught swimming and lifeguarded at Larson Pool (now Sava Pool) from 1966-1976. Charlie taught my Grandmother to swim at the old Crystal Plunge, according to my Dad.

Ironically, Charlie was the coach of many swim teams that used Larson and I was able to know and work with him.

He knew a friend of mine that I worked with at Larson very well. Little did I know at the time Charlie would end up being seated next to me at her wedding reception! Even though Charlie has passed away, my friend and I are still in contact with each other even though she lives in another part of CA.
