Marshall's Beach

There's a relatively new geographic name in SF that I'm at a loss to explain: "Marshall's Beach," that stretch of boulder-strewn pocket coves between Bakers Beach and Fort Point.

I worked at GGNRA and the Presidio for nearly 25 years and never heard this name, and it doesn't appear on any historic maps, so I can only assume it's something Gen X-ers and Millennials came up with in the last couple of decades.

Any institutional knowledge out there I can tap?
