I entered low kindergarten @ West Portal School in February 1954. I too had Miss Pon and to this day will also tell people that Governor Jerry Brown and I had the same teacher!

Do you remember making Christmas trees - we glued foil paper to a cone and then glued on buttons for ornaments. My friend Mary Kay still has hers. Unfortunately mine was lost to time.

I too am a proud product of the San Francisco public school system. I went to U.C, Berkeley and had a long career with the State of California as a vocational counselor.

p.s. I think Miss Pon taught at West Portal for about 45 years.
