I especially like the quote that author Carl Nolte borrowed from my friend Denise Pereira Webster (Star of the Sea & Cal-Berkeley alum):
“Being a San Francisco kid is a powerful bond,” Denise Pereira Webster wrote on Facebook this fall. “Is it simply a shared knowledge of city streets, people, and even buildings — that familiarity that bonds us so that we don’t have to explain further?
“Were we just young or was it the promise of the city that led us to believe we were special?” she wrote. “I do believe that there is a basic link. There is a love for our community and knowing that behind each street corner there is a story that only another San Francisco kid can understand.”
