JB's posting got me to reminiscing about what I, also a Daly City kid, purchased at King Norman's store in Westlake during the early 1960s: slot cars and track; HO railroad trains; two skateboards and accouterments like replacement wheels; coin collecting albums; innumerable model plane and car kits; Erector Set and Lincoln Log sets; spray cans for models; big bags o'stamps, plastic eggs of Silly Putty, etc., etc.

The list of Norman's wonders was endless.

I think I paid the rent on his storefront in the Westlake Shopping Center.

The Western Neighborhoods Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
