So true - and this reminds me that my first adult-style job was as a file clerk at the old Continental Insurance Co. downtown, which had bought the former Schroeder's Restaurant building and turned it into a claim file storehouse. This was a great job, because all our bosses worked in a different building. (Some old ones still wore prehistoric hats.)
Cuff links are seeing continued popularity among Eastern investment bankers and similar types. Shirts without pockets and with spread collars and French cuffs are still worn. No suspenders though.
