Earliest Public Transportation to Outside Lands

I have not seen anything in the archives here about this though there may be and I have not seen any books on it though there may be. I have however seen mention of public transportation in the early 1880s to the Outside Lands through Golden Gate Park and at least a second route to the Cliff House by trains not by horse cars. I know they had these trains around 1900 or so but I didn't know they ran as early as the 1880s.
I would be very curious about these trains and if there are any photos of them anywhere.
