Thanks for reminding me about how great it was to have blind or near-blind kids in your class. I went to Lawton from '64 to '71 and I fondly remember the blind kids and the care and attention we lavished upon them when they were new. After a while, we didn't think if them as blind at all and treated them the same as everyone else. How great!

Lawton also used to have a good speech therapy program. I can remember getting help pronouncing my "r's."

Nice to know that your memories are fond!
