I’d like to share the TRUTH about this story and that the boy mentioned in this article was framed and DID NOT set fire to Jefferson Elementary Middle School. You see the cops at the time wanted to blame the fire on someone and chose the immigrant Arab kid who stood out among mostly Irish kids in the sunset district. Magid Bateh was my uncle!!! He did not set the fire and paid heavily for a crime he DID NOT COMMIT. My cousin Raine wrote a book on Magid’s life story and it was just released a couple weeks ago. If you’d like to know the truth behind the Jefferson School fire and my INNOCENT Uncle Magid, buy the book. By the way, Magid passed away a few years ago and knew the book was being written. He was excited to have the truth be finally told. It’s unfortunate he passed away before the books completion. Magid was friends with all the Mounted Police officers and would have been a cop himself if it wasn’t for being framed as an arsonist. The truth be told.
