I too used to go after Giannini in the'70's and still have the chocalate chip mint stain on my violin case to prove it.
Went into the new Polly-Ann's last friday. Bigger, cleaner, but the same wonderful ice cream. Much to my delight they had my all-time favorite, chocalate banana and my friend spun the wheel and got something odd :) So happy to have it back.
