Mayor Art had a show called Tooneytown on channel 13 before making the move to KRON. Channel 13 could be seen in SF, but it did not come in particularly well. It was the same format as the later show.

At least San Francisco had an honest mayor in town during the time Art was around (more than can be said for the elected variety).

As I recall he also had a comic called Art's Gallery in the Chron. It would feature an old time print with a humorous statement. (I'm pretty sure it was the same guy.)

Did not KPIX have a host called Deputy Dan?

Of course, the Mickey Mouse Club came on the tube and trashed most of the local programming.
