I attended FB summer school in early 1960's - my mother attended SF State for a teaching credential. I remember being told its curriculum was experiential. It was the best, most remarkable learning experience of my life. I have a fond memory of learning about Aztec culture, culminating in a cooking project that included grinding corn to make authentic homemade corn tortillas. We painted a beautiful mural and invited our families to join our festivities.
