I don't recall a mascot or any school colors. I left West Portal Elementary in 1960. I do remember a kindergarten teacher, Miss Pon, had a stuffed rabbit named "Mr. Pink Ears." There were two principals while I was there, Mrs. White and Mrs. Tuft. I fondly remeber all my teachers and remember folk dancing in the multi-purpose room on rainy days. I would love to know if there are any planned activities celebrating the anniversary...
