All of the preceding happened years after my schooldays, but I vividly remember a teacher with the same violent tendencies. At Parkside school in the early forties, we had Miss Miller. She occupied shack #6 by the Vicente gate. She taught Social Studies to the 7th & 8th grades and was given to violently ejecting misbehaving students out the front door & down the stairs, usually accompanied by a thorough shaking. (My father was always suspicious of her because of her apparent infatuation with the Russians, Stalin, & the Five Year Plans.)
