I used to buy lunch (sandwiches) at the store on the NW Corner of 25th and Balboa in the late 40's, when I went to Cabrillo. 5 cents got you a slice of bologna between two pieces of white bread (Langendorf?), liberally slathered with mayo and mustard. Then, we called the place "Gracie's", after the lady, Gracie. George handled the candy and soft drinks. There also was a young girl helper named Leslie. Funny how these details stick in your mind after almost 60 years.
