Cala Market Manager Murdered in Early 1980s

There used to be a big Cala market in the lower sunset on Noriega Street. It used to be called the United Market until Cala Market bought them out. Anyway, I was shopping there one day back in I think it was the early 80s and then I heard a big loud BANG and heard everyone start screaming. I went over to look at what everyone was looking at and saw the horrible site of the manager of the market flat out on the ground with a lot of blood all over the place. He was shot cold dead. He had apparently tried to stop a guy from robbing a cashier and paid for it with his life. What a lousy way to die for nothing. Anybody remember that?
