My experiences may be more recent but they do mean a lot to me. So here goes:

1) 1976 moving into my apartment on 21st ave after graduating from UCSD and teaching math with the Peace Corps in Ghana for two years. Learning that the best way to get a police response was to call them that someone was parked in your driveway.

2) working for Chevron downtown and commuting on the 38 Geary. Observing the endless line at the Cornet Theater while Star Wars was playing Enjoyed Friday afternoon drinks at Sutter Station.

3) Riding my bicycle around GG park and learning about the constantly changing weather.

4) monitoring my friends reel to reel tape recorder that he left with me while he was at a Dead concert at Winterland. He would leave the recorder with me to record the show. I usually fell asleep.

5) Watching the rugby games at the Polo Grounds where I learned about that culture. First start the barbque and put the beer on ice, then play the game. Afterwords patch up the players and enjoy the party. Never really figured out the rules.

It was a great time. Then I got married and dragged back to the east bay.
