Re: The Parkside Movie Theatre

Joining this list a little bit late...still, the Parkside Theater was a big part of my "developing" years and it's great to read so many other memories.

Some of my a youngster, going to see "My Fair Lady" and "Fiddler on the Roof" with my parents. Anticipating the next printed schedule of movies and excitedly looking for ones around which I could plan my social life. It was a real family thing for us.

Then, as I got older (teenage years) and started hanging out with my fellow Riordan H.S. buddies..."The Song Remains the Same" was a religious experience - and LOUD! "Let There Be Rock", "Pink Floyd The Wall", "The Kids Are Alright", "Jimi Hendrix", "Quadrophenia" - the smells are coming back to me as I write this - and of course the double- or triple-bills of Monty Python movies...high or sober, they were all enjoyable. Oh, and of course Pirro's Pizza to round off the evenings!!

Great memories!
