Conservatory of Flowers Renovation Begins
15 May 2000--Today renovation work began on the 121-year-old Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. The grand white palace, housing many exotic plants, was severely damaged in a storm five years ago and has been closed to the public ever since.
Roughly two-thirds of the $18 million necessary for repairs has been raised.
