The Great Highway and Western Neighborhoods Project are excited to present “Feedback Loop (Medusa Strategy),” a site-specific performance at The Museum of The Cliff by San Francisco-based artist Jennifer Locke.
Working in performance, video, installation, and photography, Locke creates physically intense sculptural actions that activate the relationships between camera, audience, and architecture. “Feedback Loop (Medusa Strategy)” is an act of looking backwards—literally and metaphorically—that considers how chain reactions beginning in the past multiply and intensify to create the present.
Join us on Thursday, October 13th for an unforgettable evening that launches The Museum at The Cliff's final week of community programs before we close forever. Doors open at 6:00pm and attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments and live Jazz from the Fake Melody duo while perusing our special exhibition, Naiad Cove, an an indoor reception until the performance begins after sunset at 7:30 p.m. Then, Locke will generate a ritualized circumnavigation of the Cliff House to manifest a transformative time portal on this Western-most cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean with the help of cameras, projectors, and rear-view mirrors.
Tickets to the indoor reception are $10 for Western Neighborhoods Project members and $25 for non-members. The performance, which is outdoors, is free for the public to attend.
