Cliff House & Sutro Baths History Walk WNP Event

Apr 6, 2024 10:00am-12:00pm (Saturday)

Western Neighborhoods Project presents a history walk of the fabled Cliff House and Sutro Baths ruins, led by historian and retired National Park Service ranger John Martini. The tour will venture around the Cliff House to learn about the history of San Francisco's most incendiary landmark. Then, we’ll walk steeply downhill into the ruins of Sutro Baths and visit the mysterious tunnels through Point Lobos. Finally, we’ll climb back uphill to the old Sky Tram overlook, where we'll see the wave catch basin constructed by Adolph Sutro which trapped Pacific waves and sent roiling seawater to the Baths.

Our journey begins at 10:00am and takes about 2 hours. Grade: strenuous with steep downhill sections, unpaved trails, stairs, and walking across sandy areas. Please note that while we at WNP love animals, we can no longer allow dogs on our walking tours, in order to accommodate the needs of all our guests. Thank you for understanding.

Please register through Eventbrite. Tickets are $15 for WNP members and $25 for non-members. Become a member and save! The super secret meeting location will be emailed to you when tickets are purchased. The walk is limited to 30 people.
