Below, I've posted the obituary for Bill Siskin who, for many years, owned and operated his pharmacy in West Portal. Some of you may know or remember him.

William A. Siskin Died on August 19, 2007. He was 87. Bill was born in San Francisco on June 20, 1920, he served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed at Hamilton Field. Bill was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and uncle. Celebrating their 63rd Anniversary together in August, he is survived by the love of his life Norma; daughters, Jackie Berk (Stephen), Sharon Bologna (Anthony); son, Robert Siskin (Debbie); grandchildren, Adam and Amy Berk, Rachelle and David Siskin, Stefanie, Hayley and Drew Thompson; sister, Dorothy Karp; sister-in-law, Cecilia Zweig; brothers-in-law, Len Norack and Hy Karp; nieces, Linda Breen, Sandra Bronson, Judy Dale, Denise Norack; nephews, Roger Karp and Bruce Zweig, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Dinah and Samuel Siskin. Past president of Lake Merced Golf Club & West Portal Merchant Association. A graduate of UCSF School of Pharmacy. Bill owned and operated Siskin's Thrift Drug pharmacy for over 30 years in San Francisco on West Portal Avenue. He was an avid sports enthusiast who played golf, tennis, an avid fisherman who loved fishing with his father and son, and met his lovely wife on the badminton court back in 1944. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Sutter Hospice and all of the wonderful caring people who touched us with their kindness. Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, August 21 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Home of Peace Cemetery, 1299 El Camino Real, Colma.
