I never heard of "The Parkside," just "Parkside," until NWP's history lessons enlightened me. Even though I know that "Pine Lake" is
cartographically correct, (is that a word?,) I grew up near Mud Lake and thats the way I'll continue to remember it. For some reason it really ticks me off that Pilar Point somehow became Pillar Point and Peninsular Ave. was changed to "Penisula." (Much less character.) Another rather goofy naming policy in the Bay Area is "cross-gender" Spanish, (i.e.) Towns like "El (La) Granada, and streets like "Las (los) Flores" . Anyone agree with me, or can think of some more? Old Fogie
