When I was a little kid in the early 60's, we used to go to a store on north side of Taraval St. in the middle of the block between 25th and 26th Ave that was owned/run by an elder Chinese man. I know this store was later sold and called Dubuyahs (spelling?) in the late 60's or so, but I can't remember the original name. I only remember walking in and seeing this man always reading a newspaper in Chinese print. We used to buy penny candy and baseball card/gum packs there after walking home from a movie at Parkside Theater, a stop at Wally's Ice Cream, or after playing at McCoppin Park. Anyone remember this place or what it was called?
