There are already some good stories on this site about having Willie Mays in our midst for awhile.
My St. Cecilia Class of 1960 could brag that we had John Laberrigue who played for the Atlanta Braves and the Montreal Expos before moving on to other endeavors. Kevin recently reminded me that we also had Bob Portman (Class of 1961) who went on to play for the Warriors.
Did any of you rub elbows with a future star athlete during your grade school or high school years??
