I rode Muni buses and streetcars most every school-day for ten straight years. I can remember only once was I in a streetcar when it hit an automobile. Even that was a minor one with no injuries. I can only speak about the mid-1950s through the mid-1960s but those Muni operators were pretty darn good drivers. Do they still honor the Muni-man/woman of the Month? I did quit riding cable cars after that celebrated 1960's accident. One bump on the old noggin and I too might be transformed into a nymphomaniac! (I was already bouncing off the walls every day at S.I. like a newly-pubescent Tasmanian Devil.)
