I remember (I believe it was Harrigan's or Harrington's) near The Hibernia Bank in the tenderloin. To go there anytime was dangerous to me, but on St Paddy's day me and the guys would have to go. I think a beer and a shot was 35 cents (?). It had a large horseshoe shaped bar and almost all in there were professional drinkers. Oh yeah, there was another great Irish bar across from the Federal Reserve Bank - called Shanty Malone's - it had no name on the front, you could only tell if it was opened if the door was ajar. Then you could hear all the merry makers singing to the old piano playing man. This was in the late 40's, early 50's. Anyone remember that one?
