"Great Lake District" could be realtor hype and/or a conflation of "Great Lakes" (USA) with "Lake District" (England).

Can't really say that the area in the Richmond is really evocative of the Great Lakes OR the Lake District, though!

OK, I suppose there are other "Lake Districts" in the world. Perhaps even in San Francisco!
