I am trying to find some recordings of people who use or can fake the classic 'South o Market' SF accent. My grandmother had it, and her friends had it strongly. I still personally have some lingering traits of it in my own speech... "You can find your hankies it in the third 'draw' down of the bureuh" sort of thing. Yes, a little Bostonian or Brooklynesque maybe, but unique. My HS English teacher had it. But I can't quite imitate it, and it is rare that anyone ever hears it anymore. But I fancy that in the movie 'The Fan' Ellen Barkin does something fairly close to it, whether intentional or not. She plays the sports radio announcer character. Check it out.
