Frank, I like that quote about a veil hiding the future as a means of mercy. I seem to be one of the older ones on the year Kennedy was elected. I was not even then very into politics. My mother was a staunch republican, and probably also worried about the election of a Catholic. I do remember being out of the city when one year there was a convention in the city and I had to watch it from across the country. It was not the year that Kennedy was elected. Television was a disservice to Nixon. All I can think to say is that people who are very smart in some ways have their flaws.
