Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh!

As a kid, it was always Corned Beef and Cabbage - my father would bring home the biggest corned beefs on the planet. I don't remember where he would get them - but they were always fresh.

Back when I opened the Westin SFO (1987?!?) a kid named Sean Hennigan transferred from Chicago to work there as a Banquet Captain. Sean was a fun guy and as St Paddy's Day approached, kept talking of how great Chicago was on the day.

Naturally, I had to show him how great San Francisco was...

Back in the day I knew all the bartenders out Geary and Clement - and they knew me. We started at The Mad Hatter, made it to Ireland's 32 and finished at The Abbey Tavern. It was one of the most drunken raucous nights I think I ever had.

Ah... the good ol' days... <g>
