Paul--PETER FINNIGAN!--which matches his 1971 advertising, orange on green, and with that big exclamation point at the end--was one of the "younger" candidates from the past. Did he just fade into the mists or what? There was another young guy who also ran in the 1970s--Jeff Masonek--and his ads, naturally, featured a MASONIC street sign. These two stood out because they were about 30 years old and a full generation younger than most other candidates running for the Board of Supes. Given the demographics of SF at the time, they both lost. Surprising to think that they are both now likely on Social Security! Amazing how your words can trigger recollections from the past.
