Obviously for us who are native and/or long-time residents of The City, we have many fond memories of the people, places, and the events of "our time". But what about those military personnel who were short-term residents or temporarily assigned to the Presidio during the 1960's or 1970's? What do they remember most about San Francisco? Well, I came across a National Park Service blog from about 8 years ago that gives a better idea about their impressions of San Francisco and what they now miss. I hope you enjoy reading through their messages as much as I did.

I particularly enjoyed the mention about the "noisy animals in the zoo at night", and one recount of President Nixon's visiting the Presidio in 1970.
