I was there probably half a dozen times as a child, with my parents, as a grade school field trip, and with a day camp. The last time was probably 45-50 years ago. My clearest recollection is not of the fish but of a couple of animals they had, a tarantula and a gila monster lizard. I remember being surprised at how large and nasty-looking the lizard was. Also, I had never seen a real octopus before. The one they had, a normal small one, was not like the science fiction versions.

A close friend and neigbhor was president of the Aquarium Society so would be much more familiar than I ever was.
