Street Cars

Reading one of Frank Dunnigan's many stories I was reminded of the color change to the Muni system. There in his story was a picture of the old green and creme streetcars. I remember the time, on the way back from Fort Ord bootcamp,1968, driving down Lincoln to 41st ave with one too many under the belt, seeing a bus whose colors I never had seen before! Was I in the wrong city? Panic subsided and then disappointment that my favorite transportation system had changed its colors.
