Carl La Fong was also referenced in the 1934 W. C. Fields film, It's a Gift, perhaps the best of his great Paramount entries. When Edgar Souse (Fields) is trying to sleep on his back porch, his wife having nagged him out the bedroom, a salesman comes by about 6am asking Souse whether he knows the customer he's seeking, Carl La Fong---"capital L, small a, capital F, small o, small n, small g." You can imagine the surly response he receives.
